Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Denne tabellen inneholder statistikk over antall privathusholdninger og antall personer i privathusholdninger. Til samme privathusholdning regnes personer som er bosatt i samme privatbolig. Husholdningstype:
Som par regnes to personer bosatt i samme bolig og som er ektepar, samboerpar og registrerte partnere. (Se forøvrig definisjoner i Om statistikken hos SSB.)
Kategorien små barn vil si at yngste barn er 0-5 år.
Store barn vil si at yngste barn er 6-17 år. ammheng med befolkningssstatistikk
Statistikken er fram til 2013 laget ut fra hvor personene var registrert bosatt 1. januar (formelt bosted). Fra og med 1.1.2014 ble det innført noen unntak.
Det ble fra 1.1.2014 gjennomført endringer i rutinene for bl.a. ugifte studenter. Studenter som er registrert bosatt hos foreldrene, men som i studietiden oppholder seg ved studiestedet er plassert i husholdninger i studiekommunen ved hjelp av alternative adressekilder og statistiske metoder. Videre blir informasjon fra NAV brukt til å plassere personer som faktisk oppholdt seg på institusjon, men som fremdeles er registrert bosatt på sin privatadresse, i kategorien 'Bosatt i andre husholdninger' (ikke privathusholdninger). Som følge av dette, avviker antall personer i husholdningsstatistikken litt fra øvrig befolkningsstatistikk. Les mer om statistikken, definisjoner osv. hos SSB:
