Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Innvandrere er definert som personer som er født i utlandet av to utenlandsfødte foreldre og fire utenlandsfødte besteforeldre.
Norskfødte med innvandrerforeldre er definert som personer som er født i Norge av to foreldre som er født i utlandet, og som i tillegg har fire besteforeldre som er født i utlandet.
Landbakgrunn for innvandrere er vanligvis fødelandet. For norskfødte med innvandrerforeldre er dette foreldrenes landbakgrunn. I tilfeller der foreldrene har ulikt fødeland, er det mors fødeland som gjelder. For å ivareta personvernet er statistikken anonymisert i tilfeller hvor det er færre enn 3 observasjoner, dvs. at tabellceller med 1 og 2 observasjoner er endret til enten 0 eller 3.
